Definition of Class
This position is responsible for daily operations of the Inn and provides support to the General Manager. The incumbent directs and coordinates hotel activities to ensure the highest level of service for alumni and guests.
Examples of Work Performed
- Assists the General Manager in performance of key issues, such as business planning, capital projects, customer services, and refurbishment.
- Supervises and coordinates work schedules for support staff.
- Manages hiring and performance review processes.
- Monitors and ensures the training of new staff members.
- Manages and supervises the care, cleaning, and general housekeeping of The Inn at Ole Miss.
- Oversees operation of special events.
- Investigates and resolves guest complaints.
- Maintains par stock to ensure hotel supplies are available and serves as the primary contact with vendors.
- Makes decisions pertaining to rates for indiivdual or group sales.
- Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.
Essential Functions

- Provides suppport to the General Manager.
- Participates in the hiring and daily management of support staff.
- Oversees operation of special events and guest stays.
Minimum Education/Experience
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
AND
Experience:
Two (2) years experience in Hotel/Restaurant Management or related field.
Substitution Statement:
Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
