Definition of Class

This position manages the establishment, organization and distribution of NCAA and SEC rules, regulations and policies. The incumbent creates and distributes educational materials relating to athletic compliance to coaches, athletes and staff, prepares compliance reports and develops educational programs. 

Examples of Work Performed

  • Reviews purchase requisitions and reimbursements related to departmental expenditures to ensure compliance with NCAA and SEC rules.
  • Creates and distributes educational materials explaining NCAA and SEC rules to coaches, student-athletes, and staff.
  • Creates and develops educational mailings for boosters, local area businesses and parents of student-athletes.
  • Plans educational programs and develops presentations relating to NCAA and SEC rules.
  • Prepares summaries of Level I and Level II infractions cases from other institutions.
  • Develops and manages educational content for the athletics compliance web page.  
  • Creates social media posts applicable to NCAA and SEC rules.
  • Drafts violation reports for NCAA and SEC infractions.
  • Assists with the utilization and continued development of Assistant Coach Software (ACS).
  • Trains coaches, athletes and staff how to use ACS software for educational purposes.
  • Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with department, University, Southeastern Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
  • Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

  1. Manages the establishment, organization and distribution of NCAA and SEC rules, regulations and policies.
  2. Prepares institutional, SEC and NCAA reports relating to athletic rules compliance.
  3. Develops effective compliance education materials.
  4. Prepares and maintains compliance records and reports.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.

 

AND


Experience:
Three (3) years’ experience related to the above described duties.

 

Substitution Statement:

Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
