Position Description

The Department of Teacher Education at the University of Mississippi seeks a full-time instructor position in Health and Physical Education, beginning August 2020. The primary responsibilities of the position are to teach undergraduate courses in health and physical education and teacher education, supervise teacher education candidates, develop grants, participate in curriculum revision/development, and integrate technology meaningfully in teaching and learning.

Minimum Qualifications

The candidate must have a minimum of a Master's degree in Health and Physical Education or a closely related field. A candidate with a doctorate in Health and Physical Education or a closely related field is preferred. The candidate must have at least three years of standards-based K-12 teaching experience in Physical Education or Health and Wellness teaching experiences, the ability to work with the professional community, and must be familiar with standards-based health and physical education curriculum and performance-based teacher education assessments.
