Role Summary

  • Inspects, maintains, and repairs specialized equipment and facilities to ensure property meets established standards.
  • Utilizes specialized equipment to repair and maintain complex machinery, equipment and facilities to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation
  • Perform routine and non-routine facility inspections
  • Perform preventative maintenance
  • Troubleshoot, escalate, and document issues according to policies and procedures
  • Conduct initial survey of University technology and make repairs if possible

Examples of Work Performed

  • Inspect and perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment and parts
  • Inspect assigned buildings for maintenance repairs
  • Use work order management system to receive assigned work orders and document work completed
  • Replace or repair electronic door locks
  • Perform routine battery maintenance on electronic door locks
  • Participate in after hours on-call schedule
  • Assist in larger projects related to electrified door openings
  • Provide general IT support to the department

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following.  Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

1. Utilizes equipment to repair and maintain standard machinery, equipment and facility property to prevent  damage and ensure optimal operation.
2. Performs routine facility inspections  and preventive maintenance.
3. Conducts initial survey of plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, painting, and/or welding. Repairs if possible and makes referrals to trades as necessary.
4. Orders repair parts through Facilities Management storeroom system.

Education: High School or Equivalent
