Position Description

The African American Studies Program at the University of Mississippi invites applications for an Instructional Assistant Professor (IAP) position in African American Studies beginning August 2019. The successful candidate will teach four AAS introductory courses a semester (4/4 teaching load). The successful candidate is expected to contribute to and participate in the life and development of the program and in the broader scholarly community. A PhD in discipline/field related to African American Studies and experience teaching college level courses is required. The position is primarily focused on teaching, though research and service to the profession are encouraged. The position includes a promotion ladder.
