Definition of Class
The National Center for Natural Products Research (NCNPR) at the University of Mississippi seeks a Research Associate. This position supports an existing program and is subject to continued funding. This is a part-time position.
This position involves day-to-day editorial and other scholastic activities within the NCNPR, specifically scientific writing and compilation of annual and other technical reports on chemical and biological aspects of natural products. This includes working closely with technical staff to ensure and establish formatting and styles that should be included in resources and documents for publication and training purposes — assists in preparing reports of the organization for submission to internal and external stakeholders.
Minimum Education/Experience
Applicants must have a Master’s Degree in Chemistry or a related field with prior experience in technical reporting on chemistry, biology, and safety aspects. Candidates with additional working experience in standards and best practices in safety and efficiency for laboratory operations are highly encouraged. Candidates with prior experience in reviewing and editing technical reports for submission to funding agencies are encouraged to apply.
