Salary range: $16.94/hr - $18.00/hr 

Role Summary

Assists with routine clerical work and bookkeeping, such as documenting transactions, processing payments, and preparing invoices to ensure the accurate recording and reporting of financial transactions.

 

This position performs complex clerical and accounting functions involved in the preparation and maintenance of financial and other related records. The incumbent serves as a departmental liaison, performs clerical functions, prepares accounting reports, and may assist in training and reviewing the work of other personnel.

Examples of Work Performed

Performs professional and complex clerical accounting tasks in maintaining financial records and processing related data including examining checks, vouchers, and other documents for accuracy; 
• Prepares special accounting reports, schedules, and summaries for administrative utilization.
• Serves as departmental liaison with personnel to obtain information to verify or support financial records and to answer inquiries concerning accounting procedures.
• Types and composes correspondence.
• Assists with manual distribution of fees.
• Reconciles university accounts.
• Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with department, University, Southeastern Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
• Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following.  Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

1. Performs routine accounting activities such as receiving, processing, and updating of financial transactions for an organization or team.
2. Processes travel reimbursements, accounts receivable, payroll, and other similar financial transactions.
3. Processes orders, prepares invoices, and coordinates mailings.
4. Calculates, posts, reconciles, and verifies duties to obtain primary financial data.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education: High School or Equivalent

Experience: (2) Two Years Experience

 

An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
