Role Summary
Provides immediate health care and rehabilitative care for assigned athletes
Examples of Work Performed
This is a professional position in which the incumbent provides immediate health care and rehabilitative care for assigned athletes and assists in the daily operation of the training facility.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Provides immediate health care and rehabilitative care to athletes.
2. Provides prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation for athletic injuries.
3. Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
4. Assists in organizing and administrating the training facility
5. Provides tactical supervision to graduate or student assistants
6. Maintains records of athletic injuries, illnesses, and treatments and maintains medical files on assigned athlete.
Minimum Education/Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Sports Medicine or related field from an accredited four-year college or university.
Experience: No Experience Required
Licensure:
Must possess and maintain NATA (National Athletic Trainers Association) Certification and CPR Certification.
Must be able to obtain Mississippi State Board of Health for Athletic Training License within first 30 days of employment.
An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
