Role Summary

Provides leadership in one facilities service area to support the university's operations. Plan and implement short and long-term departmental goals. Analyze project needs and supervise renovation and construction. Identify cost saving opportunities. Lead and direct activities related to maintenance and facility operations. Provide supervision, guidance, development, and training for staff. Develop and administer policies regarding preventative and general maintenance operations. Develop strategies to reduce environmental impacts. Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems with an ability to troubleshoot. Serve as lead in absence of Associate Director.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Supervise Coordinator of Facilities and Coordinator of Maintenance positions.
  • Supervise Production Control to ensure work orders are being assigned and completed in a timely manner.
  • Inspect all areas of Student Housing facilities to ensure compliance with safety codes. 
  • Inspect all areas of Student Housing facilities to develop project needs. 
  • Work with outside contractors and vendors to ensure Student Housing facilities are kept to a high standard.
  • Manage renovation projects
  • Assist in scheduling staffing to appropriate levels.

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following.  Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

1. Oversees the activities of the services group and provides direction.
2. Serves as a liaison to regulatory agencies and other outside constituents.
3. Partners with senior management on process improvements and special projects.
4. Ensures the University maintains compliance related to the service area.
5. Develops and administers policies.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience: (6) Six Years Experience with (3) Three Years Supervisory Experience

Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set fort and approved by the Department of Human Resources

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Management, or related field;

5 years of experience in Facility Management;

Progressive experience in Higher Education Student Housing;

Supervisory experience;

Pay Range- $83,096-$124,654 (based on qualifications).
