Position Description

The Department of Art and Art History invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Art with an emphasis in Digital Art Foundations. This is a full time, 9-month, tenure-track position with a starting date in August 2020. Three years teaching experience beyond graduate school preferred. An MFA in Studio Art with an emphasis in Digital Art or related field is required at the time of appointment. Salary is competitive and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Ideal candidates will possess a strong commitment to teaching a broad range of digital foundation classes and media including:  Illustration, Digital Video, Web Design, and Motion Graphics and will have full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software. Candidates will be expected to teach analog and digital approaches, while sustaining an energetic national and international research practice. Candidates who are able to work with undergraduates through graduate-level students is expected. Responsibilities for this position include teaching and curricular development in undergraduate digital foundations classes, maintaining digital labs including server maintenance, student advising, and involvement in departmental, college, and university committees. The teaching load is three courses per semester.
