Position Description
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Mississippi invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level, with the anticipated start date in the fall semester of 2025. We seek an outstanding candidate to join a vibrant department that offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. programs, with the B.S. program in Electrical Engineering accredited for over 50 years, and a newly accredited B.S. program in Computer Engineering. The position seeks applicants in the general area of electrical engineering with the focus on interdisciplinary applications of communications, electromagnetics, and controls, emphasizing their integration into emerging technologies such as smart infrastructure, smart cities, wireless security, autonomous systems, sensor networks, new materials, and next-generation space and terrestrial wireless technologies.

A successful candidate will be expected to develop a sponsored research program in electrical engineering. A successful candidate is expected to teach topics including advanced communication systems, electromagnetics, antennas, and control systems, with an emphasis on their applications in emerging technologies such as autonomous systems, wireless networks, and new materials. The candidate for a faculty position is also expected to teach general electrical engineering courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field at the time of appointment, with a demonstrated potential for outstanding research and teaching.
