Position Description
The Department of Mechanical Engineering at University of Mississippi, Oxford, MS is seeking to fill a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Thermo-Fluids and Energy to start in Fall 2023. Applicants must possess a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field with expertise in thermo-fluids and energy. The selected candidate is expected to teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in the areas of heat transfer, thermo-fluid dynamics, elements of propulsion, and thermodynamics, and renewable energy, as well as provide graduate student supervision for both M.S. and Ph.D students. Preference will be given to candidates whose record/experience can lead to the successful establishment of externally funded research programs in computational thermo-fluid sciences with an emphasis in, but not limited to, multiphase heat transfer, micro-and nano-scale heat transfer, and renewable energy. The selected candidate is also expected to provide professional services both external and internal to the University.
