Position Description

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), Oxford, Mississippi, invites applications for an assistant/associate professor position in the area of Materials Science and Engineering. The candidate must have a BS in Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science and Engineering, and PhD in a closely related field.  The selected candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses on Materials Science and Engineering, as well as advise undergraduate students, engage in ABET accreditation, run a research program.  Areas of specialization include but are not limited to modeling of soft and hard functional nanomaterials, data-driven material and structure design, structured materials, metamaterials, and energy storage.  The chosen applicant is expected to begin August 2021.
