Position Description

The Sally McDonnell Barksdale Honors College invites applicants for the position of the Assistant/Associate Dean for the Capstone experience.  The Assistant/Associate Dean for the Capstone experience will coordinate and direct the Capstone experience or the third/fourth year experience of Honors College students as they prepare for the Honors thesis/practicum. The Assistant/Associate Dean will advise students, work with department chairs and deans to create appropriate methodological courses, and coordinate expectations and best practices with thesis/practicum advisors.  All candidates for consideration will have completed a doctoral degree, and demonstrable experience in Honors education will determine final rank as Assistant or Associate dean. The successful candidate will be considered for a 12 month, faculty appointment in an appropriate department.  If appropriate, the successful candidate will be considered for tenure and faculty appointment at the appropriate rank in an academic department.
