Position Description

The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy invites applications for a 12-month, Non-tenure track position at the rank of Clinical Assistant, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor. Rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. The position is based in Oxford, Mississippi, on the University of Mississippi Campus. Academic responsibilities include teaching in the Skills Laboratory experiences, integrated and modularized PharmD curriculum, training of pharmacy students on practice experiences (IPPE and APPE). The candidate will also be instrumental to the success of the School of Pharmacy Oxford based PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency. The candidate will maintain a practice site located at the Pharmacy Health Services located on the main campus of the University of Mississippi. Practice expectations include working in the pharmacy in addition to collaborating with the Director of the University Pharmacy Health Services and Department Chair to seek out and develop expansion opportunities for community pharmacy services offered to the greater University community. In scholarship, the candidate will be expected to publish scholarly works in peer-reviewed journals and teach and mentor students and residents in research experiences. In service or citizenship, the candidate will be required to serve the department, the school, and University according to needs and interests. Participation and leadership in professional and scientific organizations is encouraged.
 

Minimum Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE- accredited School/College of Pharmacy, with residency and or fellowship training or commensurate pharmacy practice experience required, and be licensed, or eligible for licensure, as a pharmacist by the State of Mississippi. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching, service, scholarship, and competence as a clinician. Board certification and teaching experience is encouraged.
