Role Summary

Coordinates programming and support for residents living in an assigned on-campus housing unit, and responds to emergency situations in support of creating an inclusive and save living community. Responsible for fostering student engagement through the residential curriculum, supervising staff and daily operations, and managing administrative processes such as hiring, training, conduct, facilities, and budgets. 

Examples of Work Performed

  • Oversees a residential community by supervising staff, managing operations, and fostering student development.
  • Responsibilities include staff training and evaluations, creating educational and community-building programs, addressing resident concerns and conduct issues, and collaborating with faculty on academic initiatives. 
  • Ensures safety through regular inspections, crisis response, and key/security management.
  • Builds partnerships with custodial and maintenance services, advises student leadership groups, and develops retention strategies.
  • Also manages budgets, serves on committees, and fulfills other departmental duties as needed. 

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following.  Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

1. Serves as a main point of contact for residents providing assessment, mediation and resolution of non-routine facility issues.
2. Plans, implements and evaluates student programs and initiatives for residence life.
3. Receives and responds to crisis situations according to established policies and procedures.

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience: (3) Three Years Experience
