While our team is smaller than other units on campus, we place a strong emphasis on collaboration and teamwork.

Role Summary

Implements recruitment plans, organizes or attends events on campus and off, works with staff and students/alumni, represents the institution to prospective students and their families with a goal of attracting, admitting, and enrolling a talented, geographically diverse student body.
This position blends student recruitment with strategic communication, serving as the primary point of contact for prospective students and their families, while also helping manage the school's messaging and outreach efforts through print, digital, and social media. 

 

The position is based in Oxford, Mississippi

Examples of Work Performed

•    Develops and implements annual student recruitment plans in alignment with enrollment goals.
•    Travels to high schools, community colleges, and other venues to represent the Patterson School at recruitment events.
•    Plans and executes on-campus events to promote the Patterson School to prospective students and families (ex. Admitted Student Days).
•    Evaluates academic credentials and provides admissions counseling to prospective students.
•    Maintains regular communication with prospective students, applicants, parents, school counselors, and community partners.
•    Participates in and supports campus-wide recruitment events such as Admitted Student Days, Athletic Major Fairs, Saturday Visit Days, Junior Preview Day/ Mississippi Day, etc.
•    Creates and manages content for internal and external communications (could include viewbooks, brochures, handouts, email campaigns, postcards, etc.).
•    Coordinates and curates content for the Patterson School’s website and social media channels (in partnership with the Director of Master’s Programs and other staff members).
•    Collaborates with University Marketing and Communications and other university offices to ensure brand consistency and effective storytelling.
•    Assists with the promotion of events such as Accountancy Weekend, Meet the Firms, and other student/alumni engagement initiatives.
•    Tracks and analyzes recruitment data to evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies and identify new opportunities.
•    Serve as a liaison between the Patterson School and the Office of Admissions and the office of Marketing and Communications, which includes attending meetings for the Academic Recruitment Committee and the Communicators’ Network.
•    Performs other duties as assigned to support the mission and goals of the school.

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following.  Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

1. Counsels prospective and admitted students on educational planning and career opportunities; may specialize in a specific target population, such as veterans, transfer students, or non-traditional students.
2. Receives, evaluates and responds to freshman and transfer student applications according to established policies and procedures.
3. Identifies opportunities for and develops admissions and outreach events.
4. Schedules logistics and secures resources for events to promote the Institution.
5. Evaluates program effectiveness and provides recommendations for improvement.
6. Creates targeted communication plans and materials based on established goals.
7. Delivers directed admissions program messaging to internal and external audiences.
8. Identifies, promotes, and maintains internal and external partnerships focusing on outreach, recruitment, and admission.

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience: (3) Three Years Experience

Licensure: Valid Driver's Lincense
