Department Summary
ERP Technical Administration is a small team within the Technical Services division of the Office of Information Technology. Together we work with the systems and development teams to ensure optimum performance and integrity of the ERP system landscape.

Role Summary
Provides technical direction, planning, and project development for enterprise technology.
Incumbent will play a key role in the technical design, deployment, and ongoing management of identity and access processes across the University’s EPR systems, including SAP, Ellucian, Workday, and other related integrations utilizing Fischer Identity Management (IDM) and Microsoft Active Directory (AD) solutions. Additionally, the incumbent will work closely with IT Technical Services and development teams in implementing maintenance strategies necessary to ensure integrity and optimum performance of the University’s on-premises SAP landscape. This role leverages best-practices and expertise in identity governance, role-based or related forms of access control, and the integration of identity management systems within a complex, multi-faceted IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
Identity and Access Management:
- Manage user profiles, authorizations, and system security within SAP, Ellucian, Workday, Fischer and other integrated systems.
- Maintain and monitor a coordinated register (e.g. Fischer IDM, Microsoft AD) of centrally managed attribute and role-based access controls.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to identity management and access control across multiple platforms and integrations.
System Performance and Maintenance
- Manage system backups, recovery, and performance monitoring for on-premises and cloud-based systems, particularly SAP.
- Install, patch, and upgrade SAP HANA or Oracle databases, SAP support packages, and other relevant systems.
- Monitor and troubleshoot system disk usage and performance issues, collaborating with systems staff to resolve issues promptly.
Technical Guidance and Collaboration
- Provide technical guidance to project teams, ensuring alignment with university goals and IT departmental strategies.
- Define target architectures, design patterns, and processes for identity and access management solutions related to ERP landscape.
- Support the evaluation, selection, and deployment of enterprise applications and technologies to meet university needs.
Technology Research and Implementation
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in identity management, cloud technologies, and data engineering.
- Innovate solutions to complex identity and access challenges while safeguarding confidential information.
- Articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding across teams.
Examples of Work Performed
• The maintenance of user access and authorization processes within the University student information and HCM systems (SAP, Ellucian, Workday) and utilizing integrated IDM and AD solutions.
• Providing internal and external assistance with issues related to SAP, Ellucian or Workday and the various integrated systems that rely on the data they maintain.
• Assists developers with debugging SAP, Ellucian or Workday related issues.
• Assists systems staff with management of operating system disk usage and performance of on-premises SAP systems.
• Establishes and monitors backup, recovery, and re-run procedures for on-premises SAP systems
• Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Education/Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: (6) Six Years Experience
An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
