Position Description
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Mississippi, located in Oxford, Mississippi, invites applicants for an Instructional Faculty position in the area of FORENSIC CHEMISTRY to begin August 2025. The position title and rank is commensurate with degree and experience.
The Department has vibrant undergraduate and graduate programs with programs certified by the American Chemical Society and the Forensic Science Education Programs Accreditation Commission (FEPAC). A new $175M STEM education facility has just opened that will fosteropportunities to fulfill our commitment to inclusive excellence in chemical education. Responsibilities include teaching forensic chemistry and instrumental analysis with emphasis on trace evidence such as illicit drugs and DNA. The successful candidate will also transition into the role of forensic program coordinator and oversee the forensic internship program. Other duties include advising forensic students, participating in recruiting activities, and being a faculty
mentor for Delta Delta Epsilon, an international forensic science honor society.

Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Forensic Science, or a closely related field. Individuals with expertise in forensic chemistry, including analytical method development and instrumental analysis, and those with demonstrated forensic laboratory experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
