The University of Mississippi invites you to join our dynamic team as a HRIS Administrator/Workday Business Analyst for Project Encompass, an exciting enterprise resource planning (ERP) project that aims to revolutionize our Human Resources and Finance systems by migrating to Workday.
The HRIS Administer/Business Analyst for HR, Payroll, and Finance supports the implementation, configuration, and maintenance of the Workday platform across an organization's core business functions. This role requires a strong understanding of business processes, exceptional technical skills, and the ability to act as a bridge between functional teams and IT. The analyst is a subject matter expert who drives efficiency, ensures data integrity, and supports strategic decision-making through the Workday system.

Role Summary
Assists in defining systems requirements and selecting technology. Performs basic data analysis to ensure data management objectives within a work unit are met; may assist in providing unit staff training.
Examples of Work Performed
- Oversees and maintains optimal function of Workday HCM/Payroll & Finance, which may include installation, customization, development, maintenance, and upgrade to applications, systems, and modules.
- Partner with Workday Administrators in IT to manage the Workday tenant environment, including the scheduling/coordination of weekly sandbox refreshes and the migration of approved configuration changes to production.
- Partner with the Workday Security Administrator in IT to maintain the Workday security architecture, including creating and managing security groups and performing regular audits.
- Manages permissions, access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for HRIS users.
- Programs custom functions and documentation such as automated queries, filters, macros, and reports.
- Compiles or assists with the acquisition of complex data reports, summaries, and logs for senior executives and HR staff.
- Serves as a representative and liaison between HR, information services, external vendors, and other stakeholders for HRIS design and implementation projects.
- Ensures system compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
- Maintains knowledge of trends and developments in HRIS providers, vendors, and technology.
- Assists with testing scenarios to ensure the integrity of security, business processes, and eligibility rules remain intact as updates and new releases are made available.
- Creates and maintains complex conditioning rules and eligibility requirements to streamline business processes.
- Performs other duties as required.

Essential Functions

Collaborates with executive leadership and HR staff to identify system improvements and enhancements; recommends and implements solutions.

Thorough understanding of all areas of information systems with a highly technical understanding of at least one commercial HCM platform.

Minimum Education/Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications
- Three years of experience preferred.
- Experience in administering Workday functionality.
- Work experience in higher education.
