Department Summary

The Inn at Ole Miss is an 146 room hotel located on the campus of the University of Mississippi. The Housekeeping Department is currently seeking to hire 2 full time housekeeping room attendants to clean hotel public areas and guest rooms. Work to be preformed is making beds, cleaning and sanitize the bathroom, change linens and sweep/mop and vacuum the rooms.

Role Summary

Ensures cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in assigned areas.

 

The Housekeeping Room Attendant is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness in guest rooms, corridors, and public areas, ensuring a welcoming and clean environment for all hotel guests. The position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Examples of Work Performed

 

  • Room attendants will clock in at their scheduled time to clean and sanitize guest rooms, including making beds, changing linens, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Replenish guest room supplies such as towels, toiletries, and amenities.
  • Ensure all room equipment and fixtures are in good working order.
  • Report any maintenance issues or damaged items to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Clean guest rooms

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following.  Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

1. Utilizes equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables.
2. Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances, reports issues to appropriate entities.
3. Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory and requests additional supplies as needed.
4. Documents and reports repairs, violations and pest control needs.
5. Maintains clean and clear entrances to ensure they are free of debris, litter, snow and ice.

Education: High School or Equivalent

Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial work.
