Department Summary
The Inn at Ole Miss is an 146 room hotel located on the campus of the University of Mississippi. The Housekeeping Department is currently seeking to hire 2 full time housekeeping room attendants to clean hotel public areas and guest rooms. Work to be preformed is making beds, cleaning and sanitize the bathroom, change linens and sweep/mop and vacuum the rooms.

Role Summary
Provides guidance and ensures cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in assigned areas.
The Room Inspector is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of guest rooms and public areas. The role demands a keen eye for detail, a thorough understanding of hotel operations, and excellent communication skills to effectively convey findings and recommendations.
Examples of Work Performed
- Prepare room assignments for room attendants.
- Conduct a thorough inspection of each room (after the room attendants finish the room, the room inspector will) and let room attendants know if they need to come back and correct something.
- Ensure that supplies of linen and amenities are readily available for room attendants.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Assists in training new personnel.
2. Supports supervisor in preparing work assignments for subordinate staff.
3. Utilizes equipment and supplies to clean assigned facility areas and remove waste and recyclables.
4. Monitors and secures facility interior and exterior entrances, reports issues to appropriate entities.
5. Maintains organization of supply areas and equipment, documents inventory and requests additional supplies as needed.
6. Documents and reports repairs, violations and pest control needs.
Minimum Education/Experience
Education: High School or Equivalent
Experience: (4) Four Years Experience
An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.
Preferred Qualifications
5 years of previous housekeeping or custodial experience
