Definition of Class

This position implements the school, college or unit technology efforts. The incumbent maintains department technology including computers and computer systems, servers, websites and online functions and develops digital products, equipment plans, and strategies.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Recommends, installs, maintains, and troubleshoots application software on computer workstations and servers.
  • Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots computer hardware and peripherals.
  • Administers in house and cloud based services, such as the library's Active Directory network and the proxy server.
  • Administers the Croft Institute's Active Directory network and provides support for instructional technology.
  • Coordinates and conducts training on the use of technology, including best practices for data security and appropriate use.

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

  1. Implements technology efforts and systems maintenance.
  2. Provides guidance and instruction on the use of technology.
  3. Develops equipment and technology plans and strategies.

Minimum Education/Experience


Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field from an accredited college or university.
    
AND

 

Experience:
One (1) year of experience related to the above described duties.

 

Substitution Statement:

Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
