Position Description


The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss), Oxford, Mississippi, is seeking to fill a full-time Instructional Assistant Professor position with an emphasis in Materials Science and engineering, beginning Fall 2023. The candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering field and a PhD focused in Materials Science related areas. Candidates in all areas of Materials Science and Engineering will be considered. The selected candidate will be primarily responsible for teaching undergraduate courses such as Introduction to Materials Science, Mechanics of Materials, Selection of Materials, Engineering Systems, and Dynamics. Candidates are also encouraged to offer graduate courses in advanced materials and perform research in the area of his/her specialization. At least two years of teaching experience in various engineering related topics is desirable.
