Position Description
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Mississippi, located in Oxford, Mississippi, invites applicants for a full time, 12-month, promotion-eligible position as Instructional Faculty to begin August 2025. The appointment is for Instructional Assistant Professor, however, appointments as Instructional Associate Professor and Instructional Professor will also be considered for candidates with appropriate background and experience.
Duties include teaching lecture courses including the coordination and instruction of laboratory classes in areas of chemistry in which the candidate is proficient. Candidates must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in Chemistry, or Biochemistry, or a closely related area and expect to have earned a Ph.D. by the start of employment. Individuals with expertise in any area of analytical, physical or inorganic chemistry, and a strong desire to develop innovative upper division laboratory instruction are strongly encouraged to apply.
Additional duties may include advising undergraduate majors, participating in recruiting activities, and being a faculty mentor to our student organizations. The successful candidate will join a collaborative faculty committed to quality teaching and research at the undergraduate and graduate level.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates must have a Ph.D. (or equivalent degree) in Chemistry, or Biochemistry, or a closely related area and expect to have earned a Ph.D. by the start of employment.
