Position Description

The Haley Barbour Center for Manufacturing Excellence (CME) at the University of Mississippi invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track Instructional Professor faculty position. Faculty title and rank is open, and will be determined based on the qualifications of the candidates. The primary duties of the position will be developing curricula and teaching courses for the existing undergraduate minor degree program in manufacturing for students majoring in accountancy, business, and engineering, and also assisting in developing a graduate program related to manufacturing operations. Scholarly activities to creatively improve teaching and learning pedagogy as it relates to manufacturing planning, processes, and productivity are an expectation of the position. Interaction and on-site visits with manufacturing companies to identify areas of beneficial collaboration are expected.   Candidates with interest at the nexus of workforce and leadership development, lean manufacturing systems, supply chain logistics, data analytics, financial management, and technology integration leading to innovative approaches for advanced manufacturing operations across a breadth of disciplines are encouraged to apply. The anticipated teaching load is three courses (or course sections) per fall and spring semester including experiential classes conducted at manufacturing sites, with intersession and summer teaching responsibilities as needed. Minimum Qualifications

Candidates are sought having a terminal degree in a field of study relevant to manufacturing operations, including Business, Accountancy, and Engineering, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or higher education required.
