Position Description

 

The Department of Teacher Education at the University of Mississippi seeks a full-time Instructor or Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor of Health and Physical Education, beginning August 2023. The primary responsibilities of the position are to teach undergraduate and/or graduate education courses in health and physical education and teacher education, supervise teacher education candidates, participate in grant writing, participate in curriculum revision/development, integrate technology meaningfully in teaching and learning, and demonstrate proficiency with standards-based health and physical education curriculum and performance-based teacher education assessments.
 

This position is a nine-month, non-tenure track position involving teaching, service, and community engagement. 


Minimum Qualifications

 

Applicants must have earned a Master’s degree or higher in Health and Physical Education or a closely related field. Applicants must also have a minimum of 3 years of demonstrated effective teaching in K-12 health and/or physical education with the potential to teach undergraduate and/or graduate level courses and supervise pre-service candidates. Applicants must be familiar with standards-based health and physical education curriculum and performance-based teacher education assessments.
