Definition of Class

This is an entry-level, temporary one year assignment that may be extended for a maximum of two years, at the discretion of the department.  During this assignment, a Juris Doctor Degree graduate is given an opportunity to acquire experience and skills in a particular area of law. 

Examples of Work Performed

  • Monitors and evaluates institutional practices to ensure compliance with federal and state laws applicable to the Equal Opportunity and Regulatory Compliance (EORC) area of responsibility.
  • Conducts Title IX and EORC training and other training as needed.
  • Presents, evaluates, and modifies training content to reflect any relevant regulatory changes and to ensure effectiveness.
  • Conducts investigations, summarizes evidence and drafts reports.
  • Maintains current knowledge of applicable state and federal laws as well as University policies.
  • Assists in updating EORC policies, with a focus on Title IX and Interpersonal Violence and Sexual Misconduct policies
  • Ensures notification is made to relevant parties and assists in determining if a recommendation of interim measures is necessary
  • Drafts summary documents and shares with appropriate parties such as the Provost, General Counsel and Student Affairs.
  • Ensures office confidentiality is maintained.  
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

Essential Functions

  1. Performs career specific duties, in a particular area of law, under the direct supervision of an assigned mentor.

Minimum Education/Experience

Juris Doctor Degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, conferred no later than the date of hire.
