Department Summary
Welcome to the University of Mississippi Libraries. The libraries and our team of faculty and staff are here to support you in all your endeavors while at the University; whether it be researching, studying or learning. The library boasts a print collection of 2,456,498 volumes, 304,866 e-books, 90,460 e-journals and 464 databases.
Our Library Facilities Coordinator will helps manage the operations of library facilities department, oversees physical operations, to include building maintenance, security, space uage and facility growth. They will also serves as a facilitator to execute library initiatives with external agencies, university departments, and consultant groups.

Role Summary
Supervises facilities maintenance operations for a unit and provides guidance to staff.

Maintain liaison relationships with Facilities Planning and Maintenance

Plans for library space usage and forecasts future growth for library.

Submits maintenance requests to appropriate department and follows through to ensure the requests are addressed in a timely manner.

Troubleshoots and resolves problems/complaints from faculty, staff and students.
Examples of Work Performed
- Manages transfer of materials from offsite storage and branch library.
- Keeps inventory of equipment up to date with acquisition/disposal reports.
- Works directly with outside vendors and Facilities Planning for upgrading departments within the libraries.
- Closely monitors environmental conditions within library buildings and works directly with Facilities Management to maintain optimum temperatures and humidity.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Oversees the daily operations and completion of maintenance work order by staff.
2. Guides and assists staff with complex tasks and performs quality inspections of work as needed.
3. Oversees routine to mid-level technical maintenance request and repairs.
