Definition of Class
This position will manage the day-to-day operations, duties and responsibilities of a team of web content coordinators tasked with building content for olemiss.edu and serve as consultants to content editors and content publishers across campus.
Examples of Work Performed
- Schedules and assigns day-to-day web content team tasks. Provides guidance and supervision for staff.
- Creates and implements search engine optimization efforts of web team. Oversees team to provide reports on goals, objectives to unit and department leadership.
- Ensures consistent application of web content strategy
- Develops and applies insight of web analytics strategy. Oversees team to provide reports on goals, objectives to unit and department leadership.
- Translates website strategic direction into web content, analytics, and SEO recommendations for content editors and publishers
- Maintains updated training record (accessibility, CMS) for web content community members
- Collaborates with members of web content community to develop web content processes, workflows, and projects
- Communicates with web content community to ensure brand accuracy, consistency, and adherence to web content brand standards and best practices.
- Provides additional training and resource recommendations to web content community
- Supports Web Editor-in-Chief as chief ambassador, educator, and steward of university web governance standards.
- Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Supervises and provides leadership and translates strategic direction to web content team
2. Serves as a professional resource and liaison to campus web content community
3. Upholds and maintains university web content brand standards
Minimum Education/Experience
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
AND
Experience:
4 years of experience related to the duties described above
Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
