Job Description

 

The University of Mississippi's National Center for Physical Acoustics (NCPA) is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to assist NCPA scientists in active infrasound research programs. These programs include application of infrasound to detection and discrimination and noise characterization and reduction.

 

Job Responsibilities (examples of work performed and essential functions):

The successful candidate will assist NCPA scientists with infrasound data collection and analysis and contribute to the ongoing work of infrasound research.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Education/Experience):

 

This job requires a PhD in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Geophysics, or related field. Experience with infrasound data collection and analysis is not required but is desirable. Facility with numerical linear algebra and with programming in C/C++ and Python is required. The selected candidate must be eligible for U.S. Security Clearance.
