Position Description



The Department of Chemical Engineering (ChE) and the Haley Barbour Center for Manufacturing Excellence (CME) at the University of Mississippi is accepting applications for a joint position of Professor of Practice. This is a full-time faculty position with ChE and CME. Incumbent will develop and teach courses within the curricula of ChE and CME.


The primary duty of the instructor will be teaching courses for the core undergraduate chemical engineering, general engineering, and manufacturing curricula. The expected teaching load is three to four courses (or course sections) per semester. The position is a nine-month appointment with the possibility for additional summer salary (teaching or research) based on need and available funding.


Candidates are sought having a master’s degree or higher with at least one degree in Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field with a minimum of 25 years of non-academic industrial experience, preferably in supervisory and leadership positions.


Must be a current UM employee.
