Definition of Class

This position plans, coordinates and executes special and recurring projects and programs. The incumbent reports to a Manager-level position or higher.

Examples of Work Performed

  • Works in collaboration with others in the Department of Music to establish the needs, schedule, and deadlines for communication projects, and in coordination with the department's multi-media specialist.
  • Prepares news stories, bulletins, newsletters, brochures, reports, presentations and/or other informational material for internal and external distribution; including social media online marketing efforts.
  • Collects data from records, reports and/or interviews, including (photos, videos, graphics, etc.), and adapts to proper styles of presentation.
  • Assists in the timely, accurate, and effective production and dissemination of printed and electronic information to internal and external audiences.
  • Applies strategic communications approaches to achieve respective individual and departmental goals.
  • Works to identify new, innovative storytelling platforms that can help share the Department of Music's story to broader audiences.
  • Coordinates the implementation and operation of assigned projects and programs, and provides guidance to students assisting with project or program.
  • Confers with University and external personnel in regard to material to be prepared.
  • Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with department and University rules and regulations.
  • Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.

  1. Coordinates and participates in the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of programs and projects.
  2. Gathers and organizes data to prepare reports and/or communication tools.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited college or university.

 

Substitution Statement:
Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
