Definition of Class

This position performs complex clerical duties associated with processing and maintaining student records. The incumbent posts grades, processes name change requests, and maintains and audits student academic files. 

Examples of Work Performed

  • Maintains student academic records.  
  • Finalizes grade changes and reviews classification and academic standing for accuracy.
  • Processes forgiveness grades and reviews classification and academic standing for accuracy
  • Updates the student system (SAP) to reflect special topics and research titles associated with courses.  
  • Updates the student system (SAP) to reflect appropriate notes on the academic transcript (thesis and dissertation topic, withdrawal).
  • Processes Study Abroad credit and grades.  
  • Processes forgiveness grades and reviews classification and academic standing for accuracy
  • Enters non-traditional credit to the student record such as Advanced Placement/CLEP/Military credit.
  • Audits records against student system for accuracy.
  • Corresponds with faculty, staff, students and parents concerning registration, grades, or academic standing; visits with faculty, staff, students, and parents concerning registration, grades, or academic standing.
  • Performs related duties or similar as required or assigned.

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

  1. Performs complex clerical duties involved in the processing and maintenance of student academic records.
  2. Audits records for accuracy.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education:
Graduation from a standard four-year high school or equivalent (GED).

 

AND


Experience:
Two (2) years of experience related to the above described duties.
