Department Summary
The School of Business Advising Office is a team-focused work environment with approximately 12 advisors and support staff. Our priority is to provide accurate and effective assistance to students and campus partners in a timely manner. With a student population of approximately 4,000 business undergraduates, our office is a great fit for those who want to stay engaged year-round in student-centered service and who bring a positive attitude with strong technical skills.

Role Summary
This position assists with the maintenance of enrollment and student records information systems concerning transfer credits, course schedules, graduation requirements, and similar matters. Work involves preparing, maintaining, and reviewing students records; providing general information to students; assisting with orientation, and auditing student records.
Examples of Work Performed

Prepares and maintains student records; posts course enrollments, grades, grade changes, and similar information to records.

Evaluates transfer credits for respective degrees.

Reviews and completes student forms, such as military-related forms.

Attends new student orientation and assists with orientation registration activities.

Performs other administrative duties necessary for the School of Business degree programs.

Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Performs routine registration functions such as: reviewing prerequisite requirements; verifying course, lab, and additional student fees; processing class additions, cancellations, and drops/withdrawals to ensure an effective and efficient process for students.
2. Maintains accurate student records and information within the student information system
3.Supports UM students and the Registrar as an informational resource
4. Maintains confidential information and upholds UM and Registrar policies regarding confidential and sensitive information, executing discretion on a daily basis
Minimum Education/Experience
Education: High School or Equivalent
Experience: (2) Two Years Experience
Preferred Qualifications
Associate's Degree and 1 year minimum related experience.
