Definition of Class

This position directs and manages the planned giving program. The incumbent develops polices and guidelines to govern planned giving activities; creates and implements marketing strategies; identifies, cultivates, and solicits current and prospective donors; and provides guidance and supervision to staff.

  • Directs and manages the planned giving program.
  • Secures, manages, and maintains portfolio of principal gift donors.
  • Develops policies and guidelines governing the planned giving activities.
  • Creates and implements marketing strategies.
  • Plans, coordinates, and implements planned giving strategies with donors and development officers.
  • Provides guidance and supervision to staff.
  • Maintains current knowledge of gift planning methods.
  • Identifies, cultivates, and solicits current and prospective donors.
  • Promotes positive donor relations and stewardship.
  • Develops and manages goals and strategies to target and assess planned gifts.
  • Plans and monitors departmental budget.
  • Manages donor database to identify prospective donors and strategies for prospects.
  • Serves as departmental liaison on issues related to strategy, fundraising, and events.
  • Performs related or similar duties as required or assigned.

4. Provides guidance and supervision to staff.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in a related field.
AND
Experience:
Five (5) years of experience related to the above described duties.
Substitution Statement: Related experience may be substituted for education, on a basis set forth and approved by the Department of Human Resources.
