Role Summary
Coordinates day-to-day fiscal, administrative, and operational activities of a defined, program or set of funded activities. Programs are usually focused to a single purpose, may be scientific, research, educational, or service oriented, and may exist as a subset of an integrated funded program activity. Duties typically include assisting with grant planning and administration, fiscal, budgetary, and/or other associated transactions, program implementation and administration, internal and external operational/administrative liaison, program marketing, and reporting.
This position provides career development, professional employment services, and programming to student-athletes. The incumbent develops and implements career and leadership development programming; creates leadership development curriculum; manages and facilitates workshops for student-athletes; coordinates community engagement opportunities; and establishes and cultivates relationships with community partners.
Examples of Work Performed
· Develops and implements career development programs for student-athletes including the identification of career placement and experiential learning opportunities.
· Coordinates student-athlete placement tracking.
· Manages and facilitates workshops and programming in alignment with career development best practices to enhance student-athlete employability.
· Identifies opportunities and coordinates experiential learning prospects.
· Establishes and cultivates relationships with community partners and industry leaders to improve and expand professional opportunities for student-athletes.
· Creates and maintains employer contact database.
· Coordinates on-campus interview sessions.
· Coordinates and leads workshops and training sessions for student-athletes on brand-building and social media.
· Educate student-athletes on NIL opportunities and compliance.
· Assist in monitoring and reporting requirements for NIL activities.
· Develops and implements student-athlete leadership development programs.
· Creates leadership development curriculum and program evaluation tools.
· Organizes career fairs, employer meetings, and professional development sessions for student-athletes.
· Engages campus partners for student-athlete programming.
· Provides weekly event updates to designated coaches.
· Manages departmental charitable donation process.
· Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with department, University, Southeastern Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.
· Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Assists in managing daily operations of the projects, programs or office to which assigned.
2. Establishes and/or maintains a recordkeeping system for programs, projects or office to which assigned and enters data into records or into system databases as appropriate and as needed.
3. Plans and develops methods and procedures for implementing projects.
4. Establishes and maintains productive relationships with state, federal, and private agencies as appropriate and as directed.
5. May coordinate events or conferences, from planning and advertising, to contracting for services from vendors, to registration and event completion.
6.Initiates contractual agreements between the University of Mississippi and outside agents for supervisors review and signature.
