Role Summary
This position manages and directs efforts in the areas of marketing, fan experience, communications, digital and multi-media for the Athletics Department to increase revenue and enhance the fan experience. The incumbent provides leadership and guidance to staff of these areas and frequently makes decisions by exercising discretion and independent judgment.
Examples of Work Performed
- Develops internal and external engagement plans and goals and administers those goals, objectives, and strategies for the Athletic Department. Evaluates staff performance and provides leadership and guidance for personnel of the multi-media marketing and communication areas in a way that promotes a championship culture.
- Advises athletic director, administration and head coaches on engagement strategies and produces regular documentation that details ROI on all campaigns and initiatives.
- Oversees internal communication as well as external communication through print and non-print media and collaborates across units to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Liaisons with external constituents and the university public relations office for consistent branding and messaging.
- Ensures that pre-event and in-game promotional activities for home athletic events are coordinated and consistent with the branding and departmental messaging.
- Stays current on new media outlets and technologies for external communications.
- Meets on a regular basis with rights holder to discuss current contract, game day atmosphere, promotions, revenue, group ticket sales etc. Determines and manages departmental budget as assigned.
- Ensures all assigned tasks are in compliance with department, University, Southeastern Conference, and NCAA rules and regulations. Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.
Essential Functions

- Provides strategic direction, supervision and leadership in the areas of marketing, fan experience, communications, digital and multi-media for the Athletic Department.
- Leads the development of engagement plans with the goals of increasing attendance at events, enhancing the gameday experience and maximizing fan awareness and engagement.
- Collaborate with the Ole Miss Athletic Foundation and third-party partners to increase revenues.
Minimum Education/Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: (10) Ten Years Experience, (6) Six Years supervisory experience

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a college or university in Athletic Administration, Business Administration, Public Relations, or a related field.
