Role Summary

The Staff Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients in accordance with healthcare provider orders and established policies and procedures. This role involves collecting and analyzing patient data, developing and implementing care plans, and offering physical and mental support to patients. The Staff Nurse acts as a liaison between patients, families, and healthcare providers, ensuring clear communication and compassionate care delivery. The role also includes emergency interventions, maintaining clinic standards, and contributing to policy and procedure development under the supervision of healthcare providers.

 

This is a 10 month position.

Examples of Work Performed

Delivering Patient Care:

Perform nursing assessments, collect patient data, and develop individualized care plans. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers. Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatments in the electronic health records (EHR).

 

Clinical Support:

Collaborate with healthcare providers to address patient needs and concerns. Assist fellow nursing staff with complex procedures and care delivery. Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and preventive care strategies.

 

Clinic Operations:

Maintain cleanliness and order in assigned areas, adhering to infection control standards. Monitor and restock medical supplies and equipment to ensure uninterrupted clinic operations. Use clinic systems to schedule patient appointments and manage documentation.

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following.  Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

1. Provides care supportive to and restorative of health and well-being.
2. Coordinates nursing care activities with other health disciplines involved in the treatment effort.
3. Develops a written individualized care plan which includes teaching needs.
4. Administers medications.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Experience: (3) Three Years Experience 

Preferred Qualifications

Experience providing care in women's health, including patient education, long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) procedures, sexual health and wellness, gynecological services, and preventive health screenings.
