Student Worker - Driver

Job Information

Definition of Class
These unique position is for those individuals who are interested in sporadic, short term student employment with the University. These positions are not benefits eligible. The work will only be on home football game days. Individuals will not be allowed to work more than 4.5 months (cumulative) in a calendar year (January 1 - December 31). This employment can be terminated at any time.

Examples of Work Performed

• This is expected to be a 9+ hour work day.  
• Drive and transport guest(s) in an University provided shuttle van to and from either the Tupelo airport or Panola (Batesville) airport to the University/Oxford Airport (UOX) or designated drop off / pick up location on campus. Then at end of game take patrons back to their respective airport.
• Work will start at UOX airport approximately 3 hours before kickoff.  During game driver will be required to be at the UOX airport to relax and watch the game on the TV.  Food and drink will be available during this time.  
• Operate university vehicles for official university business only.
• Operate motor vehicles in a safe manner at all times.
• Comply with all applicable state laws and regulations.
• Maintain vehicle interior cleanliness.
• Report moving violations to their Airport Manager.
• Report changes in their driver’s licensing to the university’s personnel or insurance/risk management department.
• Require all occupants to use seat belts, child safety seats, booster seats, or other restraint devices at all times.
• Pay all moving/parking violation fines and fees.
• Sign and Abide by Vehicle Use Agreement
• Operating a university vehicle is a privilege.

Saturday September 30, 2023 vs LSU
Saturday October 7, 2023 vs Arkansas
Saturday October 28, 2023 vs Vanderbilt
Saturday November 4, 2023 vs Texas A&M
Saturday November 18, 2023 vs ULM

Once game times are announced exact time schedule will be issued.

Hour Pay will be $14/hour

Minimum Education/Experience
Education:
Graduation from a standard four-year school of equivalent (GED).
AND
Possess a valid motor vehicle driver’s license. There is no requirement to have special endorsements to drive these vehicles.
Clean driving record
 
Experience:
One (1) year of experience related to the above described duties.

Be subject to a driver’s motor vehicle record check, and if such records show a suspension or revocation of driving privileges, the driver will not be authorized to operate a motor vehicle for the university.
