Definition of Class

The Office of Information Technology (OIT) seeks a student worker to fill an Office Assistant position.  This position will provide accounting and administrative support to OIT and will work under the supervision of the senior administrative staff, including an accountant who manages all financial processes for OIT.  Other OIT staff members may require support if needed.  


Examples of Work Performed

Job duties include:

  • Copy, scan and print documents
  • Organize and file accounting records and office documents
  • Assist with walk-ins and answer phones as needed
  • Make deliveries around campus
  • Shred documents containing sensitive information
  • Manage OIT supplies
  • Perform account reconciliation
  • Perform time sheet reconciliation
  • Update purchase orders
  • Assist with bookkeeping
  • Receive and distribute packages 
Minimum Requirements

The successful applicant will demonstrate the following qualities:

  • An interest in OIT office work
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Web browsers
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Integrity, punctuality and dependability
