Role Summary

Provides process-related direction for the use and maintenance of enrollment and student records information systems, recommending process improvements and supervising processing staff to ensure high quality delivery of student registration services. This position performs routine enrollment and registration procedures for University of Mississippi High School students, answers questions about the program from prospective students and parents, accepts payments, monitors account balances, maintains academic records, supervises student workers assisting with record maintenance, and communicates with online faculty as needed regarding student requests or issues. The ideal candidate will be organized, attentive to detail, an effective communicator by phone and email, and able to be self-directed following training. Experience managing records in K-12 settings would be beneficial. 

 

Key skills:

  • Fluency in Excel
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to navigate cloud-based information management systems
  • Attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies or errors in records
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for email and phone contact 

Examples of Work Performed

Daily and weekly tasks include:

  • maintaining enrollment records in our Blackbaud MySchoolApp system
  • following up with students or parents on registration processes
  • processing transcript requests
  • communicating with schools or families regarding unpaid balances
  • answering questions about course options and format
  • monitoring payments and invoicing
  • communicating with teachers regarding student problems in courses (ex: access to assignments, a test question not functioning properly)
  • attending weekly all-staff meetings to discuss shared initiatives and planning

 

Additional tasks:

  • updating student records on an annual basis as the system rolls them over into the new academic year
  • leading the planning for our annual graduation ceremony
  • providing feedback on our marketing and recruitment strategies
  • coordinating student support through enrollment, registration, and course completion processes with our dual credit enrollment team 

Essential Functions

These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following.  Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.

1. Assists in the development and implementation of operating policies and procedures for enrollment, student records, and the student information system.
2. Assists in the development of enrollment and student records-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives.
3. Serves as the liaison among institutional stakeholder groups providing registration information and representing the interests of the unit.

Minimum Education/Experience

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Substitution Statement: An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered for this role. Substitutions of the required experience or education will be assessed on a 1:1 substitution basis.

Preferred Qualifications
