Department Summary
The Division of Outreach Office of Marketing and Communication is a national award winning team of higher education marketing professionals dedicated to promoting the unique and innovative programs offered through Outreach departments. We value audience perspective to inform data-driven development of strategic marketing initiatives that showcase the talents of our creative team members.
The Web Content Coordinator will work with department leadership and peers as well as program managers within Outreach and across campus to develop web strategy, messaging copy, and accessible design for use in promoting Outreach and University initiatives. This role will additionally be responsible for guiding and reporting on web data analytics and SEO/GEO/AIO for the Division.
Members of the marketing team work both collaboratively and independently, as project assignments require. Role Summary
Develop and direct the design and delivery of websites. Oversee or produce content strategy, layout and concept design, user experience, and design architecture in digital formats.
Examples of Work Performed
- Builds web strategy for units within division and tracks web goals over time.
- Translates web strategy to specific tactics needed to accomplish goals and creates and carries out action plans.
- Uses complex technical, proven experience to create and optimize web content.
- Consults with units to write and review content for brand voice, tone, style.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Create and maintains content for digital portfolios.
2. Applies concepts, policies, processes and standards for development of web resources under the direction of management.
3. Assists with strategic planning of UM's integrated internet resources.
4. Consults, instructs and guides content contributors and identifies training needs and opportunities as appropriate.
Minimum Education/Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: (3) Three Years Experience
