The University of Mississippi is seeking a talented Coordinator of Marketing to join our team at the Department of Campus Recreation.
Campus Recreation provides outstanding services, inclusive programs, and educational opportunities to empower the University of Mississippi community in the pursuit of lifelong well-being. Performs technical work in the support of the marketing team.

Examples of Work Performed
● Monitors the preparation and distribution of social media posts, website updates, and promotional materials.
● Ensures all materials adhere to appropriate university guidelines and standards by proofing and editing deliverables.
● Maintains a current understanding and expertise related to emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in social media and communicates knowledge clearly to others.
● Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates student employees and graduate assistant(s).
● Collaborates with University departments, organizations, and external groups to oversee departmental outreach through tabling and presentation opportunities.
● Establishes and maintains relationships with internal and external agencies to provide continued support of Campus Recreation programs and special events through advertising partnerships.
● Drafts departmental advertising agreements for submission to contractual management.
● Assists with the planning, implementation, and evaluation of designated departmental special events.
● Assists with tracking program area-related revenue, expenditures, and prepares monthly reports.
● Facilitates market research and makes recommendations to the department.
● Assists in establishing and implementing program area and departmental short- and long-term goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
● Represents Campus Recreation on various committees, boards, and associations.
● Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Drafts meeting notes and prepares materials including updated project benchmarks and research information to support marketing projects, campaigns, and work unit personnel.
2. Summarizes market tracking and research data from distributed market surveys.
3. Assists in developing creative marketing strategies and multimedia campaigns by creating and distributing draft materials to a variety of project participants.
4. Ensures promotional materials are maintained.
5. Modifies materials as directed by professional staff.
6. Schedules meetings of project stakeholders, including external vendors as required to maintain project timelines and responds to initial questions.
